I am looking for information about a comic book or a graphic novel published BEFORE 1984.?

okay does ANYONE remember a comic/graphic novel published BEFORE 1984 that features elves, Dwarves ( NOT Elfquest)? Here is the main thing that sets this in my mind..the map of this land was shown to have the main continent in the form of a dragon, complete with a floating island mass that cast a shadow below not the main land that formed the dragon's eye. And the female elf was hatched form an egg.
