What big thing happened in 1987?

For English class, we're righting this huge research paper. This year's topic was years, and I pulled out 1987. I need to find something that happened in 1987 and turn it into a 7 page long paper :( It needs to be something that affected us today. It could be like a movie was made - but it was the first movie with an all African American cast. Something like that. We need to be able to get something out of it. I've been looking it up for the past 3 days, but I'm at a loss of what to do. I've looked on wikipedia and they have the whole year mapped out, but I can't really find anything that important that happened in 1987. If any of you were alive in 1987, and you experienced something that has affected you, or other people, I would really appreciate your help! Thanks so much!

I'm a 19 year old girl with blue eyes, slim body type. I was just wondering if there were any casting calls or auditions for any movies out there? I have never acted but I feel like it'd be different and a lot of fun. Also, I have been around horses for 15 years and I very much love to ride, if there are any opportunities involving a horse I'd be estatic! HELP: fractured wrist?

Okay I was playing tennis and fell back and all my weight went on my wrist. We went to the hospital and they took X-rays and said it's fractured. They put this cotton-like material and then wrapped it with a thin stretchy brown thing (I forgot what it's called). But it's on pretty lose and I want a real cast because it hurts REALLY badly. They said I have to wait 5 days to see if I need a real cast but the pain is terrible and I typed this whole thing with 1 hand. And my parents say I have to wait the 5 days even though it hurts so bad. I took pain killers but it still hurts. What should I do?
