What do you think? Is the mma just a fad?

Remember about I don't know 4 - 6 years ago when every kid/teen wanted to be a pro skater? Or when the WWE was all that? I don't hear any one talk about the WWE now. So I'm starting to think that the mma is just a fad. I don't think it will die out or anything but I think it will loss poularity and people will move to something else. Now boxing has been around for a long time and has had it's ups and downs so I don't think the mma is gonna take it over. So what do you think. (please be resanoble don't be a dumbass and say stuff like "hurr durr mma rocks! Boxing is dead only old men watch it hurr." nor "haha mma is a joke." I like boxing more but respect both sports so do the same please?)
