Why does every teenage girl who wants to become an actress insist on saying "I can make myself cry"?

I have heard it said that laughing naturally is the hardest thing an actress/actress must do. Crying comes easily to most people. Ask these girls if they can laugh at will, since that is where the real talent lies.
