Canada or USA which one?

Ok well first I thought i'd love to live in USA and set my mind to that. Then about a year ago I found out it would be easier to get into Canada (no disrispect to Canada). Now i'm confused which country I should attemp to get a visa to. I'm 17 about to turn 18 and go to University so i'm not ready to go yet but I mean i'll sit here and say yep i'm going to Canada then i'll cast my mind to USA and be like but damn that would be even more fun. I guess I feel if I live in Canada I would be a failurebecause I always wanted to live in USA but at the same time i'd love to live there. Please help give me pros and cons about both countries. No disrespect to either country. Also how are the two similar and unsimilar? I'm from Australia which would feel more like home and give me the best cities in each country in your opinion and pros and cons about them to?
